Luton Airport parking traffic warning for travellers using M1

Passengers who are flying through Luton Airport over the next few months until early spring time are being warned of the potential traffic jams they could encounter on the M1 motorway that links the airport with most of the country. 

The work being carried on the motorway is for widening purposes which starts at junction 10 and travel all the way down to the M25 junctions. The whole works are expected to take a few years to complete, but in particular the stretch close to Luton Airport will be down to one lane in each direction for the rest of this year and some of the next.

During this entire period a speed limit will be in place of 40mph and at night time there may well be closures altogether. Passengers using the airport for flights are advised to leave with plenty of time in able to catch flights at the airport. 

Alternative routes should be mapped out well in advance should the motorway be closed. The motorway is already particularly busy during rush hour times of the day as it is a large commute for workers travelling into London. With the advent of the three-lanes being turned into one it is sure to cause misery for a few missed planes.
